This delicious smoothie provides a powerful nutrient hit, with its use of high-antioxidant ingredients. Combined with the cholesterol-lowering effects of oats, this meal is a satiating and heart-healthy way to start your day.

Boosted Smoothie

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 banana, frozen and sliced

  • ¾ cup wholegrain rolled oats

  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed

  • 2 tbsp date syrup

  • 1 tsp blackcurrant powder

  • Water to fill

LET'S GET COOKING

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender, and blend till smooth.

  2. Use fortified plant-based milk if requiring additional minerals such as calcium.

  3. Add peanut butter for a little extra protein and fat
